Establish Yourself As An Expert - Your SEO Content Writers

Content Writer ? Establish Yourself As An Expert

When you are a content writer, you have a lot to live up to. Many non-English speaking writers are now taking over the market because they offer their services for next-to-nothing prices. Of course, this looks very appealing to the person buying the services however; it does not mean that the work is high quality. In fact, more often than not the writing will be difficult to understand and will lack any thorough research or viable sources. To stand out from the rest, you should learn the three best ways to establish yourself as an expert in this field.Content Writer – Establish Yourself As An Expert

You may have seen many online commercials showing business cards and the influence they can have on your career. Generally, it is possible to purchase 500 business cards or more for less than $10 and when you think about it, this is a very affordable form of promotion for a content writer. For content writers who are just starting out in the field, this will be even more important because it gives them a step up the ladder, without expensive costs. Placing business cards in various local stores and handing them out to friends and family will help you to get noticed and this will result in the most powerful form of advertising ? word of mouth.

Content Writer ? Websites

Making your own website displaying your skills as a content writer will be a remarkable move to make if you want to be known as an expert. Think about when you want a service ? you always look for a company that maintains their own website, right? If so, you are like most people. If a business does not possess a website in this day and age, what exactly are they doing? Bear this in mind because a website could help you to look professional. In addition to making your own website, use other sites that display your skills. You can do this by making pages on Twitter and Facebook or alternatively, by making a HubPages or Elance account.

Content Writer ? E-Books

An e-book is an electronic book that can be created on the computer and read on the computer. These e-books are simple to craft and if you have skills to share, consider pouring all of the advice you have into an e-book. A benefit of this is that people will remember your name, recommend you to others and also, you could make money in the process. A content writer should implement this method because an e-book can be read on the move, making it possible for absolutely anyone to see it.

3 Ways For Non-Profits to Get the Most from ... - Business 2 Community

Sometimes they?re a true blessing. Other times, well, not so much.

Hopefully your non-profit?s experience with corporate volunteer programs has been nothing but positive. ?The program was organized, the volunteer team was filled with eager and genuinely engaged employees, the team took their work seriously, stayed on task, accepted direction, and the day was a resounding success because of it all.

Odds are, however, that you?ve seen corporate volunteering in its less laudable form.

Maybe the program dissolved into one elaborate cause marketing ploy. ?Your corporate partner was more concerned with poignant photo opportunities and heart-warming press releases than the actual task at hand. Or maybe the volunteers saw the program as a much needed day off from the daily grind, spending the day giggling with their colleagues, taking naps in the sun, and spending more time discussing who was buying the first round of drinks that night than the actual volunteer work itself.

If you?ve ever worked as a non-profit volunteer coordinator, chances are you?ve felt the disappointment of gently urging your volunteer team to come back from their long-extended lunch break, only to be met with a harmlessly intended joke that cuts a little too deep given the circumstances: ?Well, you can take it out of our paycheck.? ?Sound familiar? ?Then you know all too well the ensuing frustration as you force a chuckle, walk back to the job site and desperately hope that your volunteer team will follow your lead.

What separates successful corporate volunteer programs from the not-so-successful kind? ?And what can you do to ensure your non-profit is getting the most from your corporate partners?

In past years, the corporate partnership game has changed for non-profits. Corporate social responsibility is fast becoming a critical ingredient of bottom line success in the modern business world. ?Not only is a global consumer base increasingly demanding that corporate philanthropy efforts are stepped up, but a new generation of socially-minded professionals wants to see their employers do more than just cut a check to worthy causes. ?Instead, corporate volunteer programs are on their way to becoming a mandate for companies who want high employee retention and employee engagement rates for their top young talent.

As such, you can?t simply bring home a hefty check from a corporate sponsor and then call it a day. ?To nurture lasting relationships with top corporate partners, your non-profit needs to develop novel fundraising ideas that involve a company?s employees and create meaningful, impactful volunteer opportunities which advance mutual goals. ?In the best of all worlds, corporate partners enjoy an enriching volunteer experience which aligns with their cause marketing strategies and promotes employee engagement, and you gain access to a hard-working and capable volunteer team which helps you pursue your mission.

Some factors are beyond your control ? the internal motivation of the volunteer team, for example, or their willingness to receive your guidance and instruction. ?But if you?re a non-profit leader, there are three key measures you can take to give your corporate volunteers the greatest chance of success:

1. Get organized

Don?t assume you can simply throw a volunteer team into the fire on their first work day and expect them to take care of themselves, no matter how prestigious their day jobs might be. ?A well-run volunteer program means extra effort on your part. ?These aren?t your staff members; they?re not around your non-profit?s work day-in and day-out. ?Plan accordingly, doing everything you can to create a work structure which will allows your volunteers to make the most of their talent and energy.

2. Strike the Right Tone

Find a leadership style which keeps your volunteers on track without stripping them of their enthusiasm. ?In the world of volunteer management, there?s a fine line between leading your volunteers and bossing them around. You certainly don?t want to make your energetic volunteer team feel ?voluntold,? but you also need to keep the work balance tilted toward structure as opposed to chaos.

3. Delegate Wisely

Give your volunteers meaningful and rewarding jobs. ?What?s the best way to sap your volunteer team?s enthusiasm? ?It?s a toss-up between a dictatorial, unappreciative leadership style or mind-numbing under-stimulation. ?If you or your staff are on site, you should be taking care of the most menial tasks available, not your volunteers. ?Even if it would be more efficient for you to simply take over and complete the more substantive work, it doesn?t matter. ?Take the extra time to set your volunteers on course, or, if necessary, work alongside them. ?But don?t relegate them to the jobs you?ve been avoiding because they?re the least interesting.

Positioning your volunteers to leverage their skills pro-bono (or, if the work is outside of their skill set, then at least their enthusiasm) will help ensure that your non-profit makes the most of corporate volunteer programs. ?Better yet, smart use of company volunteers will lay the foundation for a lasting corporate partnership that keeps a steady stream of resources and funding flowing to your organization for years to come.

Julia Sloan, VP of Global Communications, Nars | Into The Gloss

?I think growing up in France?I grew up with the best brands. My first makeup product was a Dior eyeshadow, a bright blue Dior eyeshadow that my mother had. She had all these luxurious products; she always had YSL, Dior, Chanel. So?it sounds terrible?I never really bought a whole lot of cheap-y brands. The first time I started wearing makeup when I was in my teens. My mother took me to the Dior counter, and I got a makeover and a few products. I?ve always loved the very prestige brands, which is why I think I?ve always worked for very prestige brands, as well. At?Nars, I head up global communications. We handle many different things: advertising, as well as all of the digital and social media, and the very straightforward PR, both in North America and in our 18 markets, and then makeup-artist relations. We have a dedicated person on our team that works on both external and internal makeup artists, and then obviously anything that has to do with [our founder] Fran?ois, we handle. I have a great relationship with him. He?s so inspiring to work with, and I understand so many of his references. It?s such an asset to be French and work for a French founder and creative director like Fran?ois because he?ll say, ?You know, like Catherine Deneuve in Belle de Jour,? and right away I?ll understand what his reference is. And I think he?s just so creative. He always pushes the limits, he always wants the best, which is sometimes hard to achieve, but he?s always right.

In my bathroom, I have huge bins of Nars products. Personally, for me, I love?and I?m not just saying this because it?s relatively new?our tinted moisturizer. I?m not a foundation/tinted-moisturizer kind of girl?I just wore concealer before I started working at Nars?but this tinted moisturizer is very sheer and it still gives your complexion a dewy look, yet it gives you coverage, and it?s really easy to apply. I love a bold lip, like the Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl, and the Pure Matte Lipstick in Carthage, which is like a bright, bright pink. You just do a lip, and you?re good to go. But I live and die for Shiseido Benefiance Full Correction Lip Treatment. It?s a lip treatment, yes, but it?s also a lip moisturizer. I put it on before I apply any lip color.

I?m?obsessed?with our eyeshadows: the Duo in Rated R, which is a bright blue and a bright green. I?m careful how I put it on. You can use them wet or dry, so sometimes I dip my Push brush into the eyeshadow and just line my eye with it?using it as eyeliner basically. Or sometimes I?ll just layer the blue shade on my eyelid, and then I?ll smudge it in and blend it with another color. I also like?Kalahari; it?s this brown-y, taupe-y beautiful color that?s sort of an everyday eyeshadow. And then I wear a long-wear eyeliner?Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner in Rue de Rivoli.

In terms of blush, I stick to?Douceur: it?s matte, and it just gives you the right amount of pigment for your cheek. And, of course,?Orgasm?blush. I know that everybody loves that, so it?s a little clich?. I use The Multiple in Copacabana to highlight. I have the Yachiyo Kabuki Brush, which?I?m obsessed with. It?s very flexible and allows you to blend. For powders, I?ll start with the Albatross?Highlighting Blush on the top of my cheeks and also my brow bone?it?s an illuminator, basically. Then, I put Douceur on top of it, and then, on the apple of my cheek, I?ll do Gaiety, just to get a little more color. So: highlighter, contour, and then just a sort of pop of color. I was never a blush girl before I started at Nars?ever. But Fran?ois always talked about how important blush was to a makeup routine?always, always, always.

Every time we have a new collection, I try to bring two or three home and then somehow one of the new products will always end up in my makeup bag that has all my classics:?Lanc?me D?finicils mascara,?Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer?your makeup will not move. Even if you?re just wearing concealer, you should be putting this stuff on, so you?re concealer will stay on much longer. Sometimes I put it on my eyelid before I do eyeshadow. It?s super lightweight; it?s like water. And then I have the Diorshow Brow Styler. I?m a big brow girl?never used to be?and I literally just pop in on, and it puts my brows in place. I?m crazy about my brows. I go to the specialist?Maribeth Madron?she works out of Sally Hershberger?s uptown salon?and she told me to?use Laura Mercier Eye Brow Pencil in Brunette. Most of the pencils on the market aren?t dark enough for brunettes, and this is almost like a black-brown. ?I don?t get my hair colored; it?s like a jet black-brown, very dark. I don?t do anything to it. There?s this whole trend about having the tips lighter, but I can?t do it.

I am a big skincare person, and my routine takes forever?like 15 minutes. I use?Bioderma Cr?aline, which everybody does, but actually Nars came out with a Makeup Removing Water,? so I?ve started using that, as well. And then I usually follow that up with the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser?it?s like a face-cleanser milk. You just put it on, and then you tissue it off. Twice a week, I?ll use my leopard Clarisonic with the Toleriane. Then, La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water, and then, in terms of moisturizer,?Toleriane Riche Facial Cream. Since I?m obsessed with my brows, I also apply Revitabrow?to make them a little fuller. I think the story behind Revitabrow is that this man created it for his wife, who had cancer and lost all of her brows. It?s like $100, and I use it every morning and night. And Cl? de Peau Beaut? Intensive Eye Contour Cream, which is?super smooth, and not sticky. I?ve been wearing eye cream since I was 22 years-old. Recently, I?ve become a little obsessive about my neck?I?m worried about bands and discoloration. For this, I love?Dior L?Or de Vie La Cr?me Riche and Guerlain Orchid?e Imp?riale Neck and Decollete Cream. They use this incredible molecular extract or something in their products; it?s awesome.

I can?t live without?Fresh:?their body lotions, shower gels, shampoos, and conditioners. I use the Soy Shampoo,?Meadowfoam Cream Conditioner, and?the Mangosteen Soap, which is unbelievable. I have really dry skin, and their Sugar Body Oil is great, too. I?m looking for a good scrub. When I was in Korea for Nars, we decided to have a little local experience and went to a local spa, and they didn?t speak a word of English. I went in, and got the best body scrub of my entire life. I mean, she literally took off layers of my skin. It was painful, but I?ve never felt softer, ever. So I?ve wanted to go to a Korean spa since I?ve been back, but I just haven?t had time.

I love facials, too, and getting deep tissue massages, just because there?s a lot of stress.?Caudalie?has an amazing massage therapist who is Russian; he?s super intense. Once, I booked a massage?I think it was a fifty-minute massage?and he gets in there and he huffs and puffs and he?s like, ?It?s never enough time.? And I was like, ?Great, do you want to give me some extra time for free?? I go there when I can.?

2nd boy dies after shock incident in Tenn. lake

By NBC News and msnbc.com staff

A second boy has died after a group of children were shocked by an electrical current as they swam at a marina in a Tennessee lake.

Grainger County Sheriff Scott Layell said 11-year-old Nate Lynam of Morristown was pronounced dead at 7:35 p.m. Thursday at East Tennessee Children's Hospital, NBC station WBIR reported.

Another boy, Noah Winstead, 10, of Morristown died Wednesday at the German Creek Marina on Cherokee Lake in Bean Station, WBIR reported.?

Officials said the two boys and an 8-year-old girl were swimming between two houseboats when they were shocked. The adults and a 12-year-old boy were shocked when they tried to get the three children out of the water. The two children who survived were siblings of the boys who died, officials said.

"At first, everybody thought maybe they were being stung or snake-bitten and everyone began to jump in to attempt to save them," said Layell.? "When they hit the water, of course, they became [victims of electric shock] as well and paralyzed for some period of time.? So many people coming to the rescue, jumping in, risking their lives, not knowing what they're getting into; that's just pure heroism.? That's what true heroes are made of."

The incident was?one of two on the Fourth of July involving deaths of children?who were shocked while swimming.?In Missouri, 13-year-old Alexandra Anderson and her 8-year-old brother, ?Brayden, were killed when they were shocked around noon by an unknown source of electricity while swimming near a private dock in the Lake of the Ozarks,?KSHB-TV reported.?

Nate Lynam's family released the following statement after his death:

The family of Nate Lynam is overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from family, friends, and the community.

It is the family's wish that the tragedy that claimed his life not be what defines it. Nate was a loving son, a loyal brother, and a kind and respectful young man.

If there is anything newsworthy in this tragedy it is this: Nate and his friend, Noah, loved Jesus and trusted in Him. The family finds great comfort in knowing that they will be reunited one day in Heaven. ?

The First Baptist Church in Morristown, Tenn.,??has set up the?Fund for Our Two Families?to provide financial support for the victims' relatives, WBIR reported. Donations may be sent to the First Baptist Church; P.O. Box 1899; Morristown, TN 37816.? The church finance director said a method to donate online is being established.
